These activities are focused primarily on the Strategic Portfolio, our long-term vision for the intended investment portfolio composition. Within TFM, the Portfolio Design & Construction (PD&C) group is responsible for recommending the fund's risk appetite and allocation at all relevant horizons. PD&C focuses on recommending strategic positioning and fund investment decisions and is organized into three teams: Strategic Portfolio Design, Portfolio Construction and Tactical Asset Allocation. We are currently recruiting for a Toronto-based Analyst to work across the **Strategic Portfolio Design** and **Portfolio Construction** teams**.** The Strategic Portfolio design team focuses on the fund’s risk appetite and long-term strategic allocation. The Portfolio Construction team focuses on determining key portfolio design decisions, such as leverage and liquidity target, and transition plan towards our strategic allocation. We are looking for a quantitative professional who can support the activities of both groups. The key responsibilities of the role will include: - Operating our portfolio design and construction models to help develop the Fund’s strategic allocation. - Conducting liability and simulation modeling to help develop the Fund’s risk target. - Constructing scenarios to inform the Fund’s allocation and decision-making. - Updating and refining our existing models and tools. - Perform ad-hoc quantitative analysis and effectively communicate findings and recommendations. - Summarizing analysis and presenting findings to key stakeholders. **Qualifications**: - Degree in finance, mathematics, economics, engineering, or another quantitatively-oriented discipline, with an advanced degree or CFA designation preferred. - 0-2 years of work experience in finance or a related field. Experience with quantitative portfolio construction techniques considered an asset. - Strong analytical skill set: working with data, conducting statistical analysis, performing optimizations, developing large-scale quantitative models. Experience with asset-liability modeling considered an asset. - Strong coding skills, with proficiency in Python preferred. - Deep interest in modern portfolio theory, statistics, macroeconomics or quantitative portfolio techniques. - Creative problem-solving skills and approaches challenging assignments with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity. - Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work in a high-performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Good judgment and focused on delivering practical solutions.
