**The Role**

We are currently looking for a **a highly skilled Horizontal Boring Mill Operator **in our Machine Shop department to join our growing team

This is a **full-time position on the day shift**:
**Monday - Thursday**:7:30AM - 5PM

**Friday**:7:30AM - 4:00PM

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Set up and Machine midsize to Large weldments.
- Oversee and ensure that safe-working procedures, good housekeeping practices and all company policies are adhered to at all times
- Organize resources and workflow to maximize efficiencies and monitor daily performances
- Schedule, distribute and control work assignments to provide smooth workflow of both priority and routine tasks to ensure efficient utilization of personnel so that production requirements are met in a timely basis
- Co-ordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of shop floor equipment as necessary
- Provide leadership, support and direction to employees on machining/technical challenges
- Be proactive to ensure a safe work environment and promote safe work habits continuous contact with shop floor employees
- Conduct Training for new employees
- Maintain ongoing and effective communication with Plant Manager, other supervisors, Cad-Cam programmer and production scheduler with regards to daily activities and priorities

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education and certification in a related technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years’ previous experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 10 years of CNC machining experience
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with excellent leadership skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with sound judgment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work overtime on an occasional basis

**Experience**:

- Machine Shop Supervisor: 15 plus years (preferred)
- CNC Machinist: 15 plus years (preferred)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

**Salary**: $33.00-$40.00 per hour
