**JOB SUMMARY**
Under direction of the **Print Supervisor** the Indigo Pressman will operate the Digital Press to produce high-quality cards that meet customer’s requirements. Will run jobs in a timely manner and double check the copy for accuracy of graphics, quantity, material and color.
Inspect and clean the press parts on a regular basis and report on any needs for repairs and/or maintenance. Adhere to safety practices of operating a digital press and finishing machine. Maintain an extremely clean work area.
**DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Operate digital printing equipment
- Review files and job instructions to prepare jobs for printing
- Maintain daily print job production logs and data collection
- Setup, program and release jobs from print queue
- Adjust image position, color calibration, monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, and other items as needed
- Requires a thorough knowledge of equipment
- Experience in Operating procedures skills in full set up,
- Operate, diagnose, solve and correct operations issues
- Performing daily maintenance accurately, efficiently to minimize unexpected downtime and service calls
- Monitoring the printing process to maintain print quality and minimize waste
- Assuring jobs are properly set up for quality/productivity
- Keeping abreast of best operator practice
- Other duties as assigned
**Work Environment**
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves some lifting of materials and product up to 20 pounds. Machinery operation requires training on how to operate the use of equipment safely.
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience in conventional offset press operation, preferably color printing, or digital press print production operations.
- Completion of college/ technical school diploma in Print Production or similar functional area.
- Understanding the basic concept of pre-press
- Prior basic computer experience/aptitude
- Good visual discrimination, excellent feeling for quality and ability to visualize colors including the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
- Mechanical aptitude and skills to perform technical adjustment and maintenance of the digital press
- High attention to detail for quality control purposes
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Ability to conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality and performance
- Strong understanding of equipment capabilities
- Excellent visual insight and grasp of color theory
- Able to follow instructions thoroughly
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Will have an eye for color and print quality
- Punctual, meticulous and reliable
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
**Salary**: Up to $18.00 per hour
