Job description

Hi, we're Pastel Bakes, a bakery in Toronto, Ontario. We're looking for a talented cake Baker/Junior Pastry Chef to join our team We are a small business and looking for an enthusiastic member who is willing to grow with the business. We are looking for a team player that is interested in experimenting with new items and flavors and working with the team to continuously grow the menu.

We are looking to hire a skilled cake baker to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies and other baked goods according to menu requirements.

Working directly alongside other bakers and cake decorators, and fulfilling weekly baking duties.

You should be able to demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Baking and creating products upon customers' specifications.
- Decorating cupcakes and preparing cake jars for service and attending to UBER/Customer orders. Must be able to work as early as 6 in the morning.
- Baking and decorating regular bakery items according to established bakery standards.
- Assisting baking staff with the production of standard bakery items in accordance with foodsafe standards
- Producing different kinds of icing, frosting, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences.
- Assisitng with inventory of baking and decorating supplies and ordering new stock as required.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and ovens as well as baking and decorating equipment.

Position Requirements:

- Food Handling Certificate
- Proven baking and cake decorating experience.
- The ability to use various cake decorating instruments and tools.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Detail-oriented.
- Basic numeracy skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.

**Salary**: $15.50-$16.50 per hour (can be negotiated upon skill level)
