Join the Ministry of Health's Capital Financial Services unit as a Capital Data Analyst, where you'll support evidence-based decision-making for major health infrastructure projects. Your work will help guide planning, improve systems, and inform high-impact decisions across the province.

At Health Capital Policy and Planning, you will be key to the health capital portfolio at large in policy and planning decision making, supporting engagements with stakeholders and providing analyses and advice. Within the branch, Capital Financial Services comprises advisors and analysts that are responsible for the organizational and financial components of these policy and planning initiatives. You will join a team that leads in: coordination efforts with key stakeholders including the Treasury Board Secretariat, Ministry of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Ontario and more; accounting and reporting requirements for health capital finances; providing financial advice to the portfolio in matters of project costing, local share planning, settlement and more; as well as providing critical financial and data inputs and analyses to health capital project submissions to Treasury Board.

**About the job**: As a Capital Data Analyst, you will:

- Research and analyze financial and statistical data to support health infrastructure planning.
- Provide insights and advice on capital project issues.
- Prepare reports and data summaries to support decision-making.
- Help gather and interpret health system data for financial analysis.
- Support collaboration by sharing information across teams and partners.
- Contribute to committees and cross-functional teams on data-related work.

**What you bring to the team**:
**Healthcare Knowledge**: You have:

- Knowledge of data collection, information management, statistical analysis, and reporting best practices.
- Experience working with hospital and health service provider data systems.
- Knowledge of Ontario's healthcare system, including service delivery, governance, funding, and the role of Ontario Health.
- Familiarity with the Health Based Allocation Model (HBAM) and its use in forecasting health system needs.

**Analytical and Organizational Skills**: You have:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Planning and organizational skills to manage and analyze health care information from various sources.
- Experience conducting research and analysis to support financial strategies, funding models, and best practices.

**Communication and Collaboration Skills**: You have:

- Strong communication skills to explain data findings, provide updates, and make recommendations.
- Experience advising senior leaders on health service planning and forecasting.
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively across teams and contribute to committees.

**Technical Skills**: You have:

- Experience with computer programming and statistical techniques.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and database tools like Excel and Access.
- The ability to interpret legislation such as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) to ensure data reporting compliance.
