Estimator will be responsible for the accurate, timely preparation of full-cost estimates, including materials and labour. This will include collecting and analyzing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to obtain the complete bid package pricing and qualification information. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for multiple bids at once while ensuring the bid process goes smoothly and every bid is accurate, complete and submitted on time. Upon award of projects it will be the responsibility of the estimator to support operations in estimating change notices as they are identified from our team or the client.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Create and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost electrical estimates.
- Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.
- Suggest proposal procedures to follow.
- Analyze bid packages to ensure completeness, accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency.
- Present estimates and conduct review meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates.
- Participate in discussions on the bid strategies required for the company to be successful.
- Review final estimate packages prior to submission.
- Collaborate with other team members to determine costs related to RFI’s and additional work orders.
- Participate in project kickoff and project closeout meetings.
**Qualifications**:
- Journeyman Electrician.
- Minimum 2 years electrical estimating experience working with Accubid.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (excel, outlook, word, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Outstanding organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimum supervision.
- Collaborative in dealing with team members and clients.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of the organization as well as customers.
- Able to adapt to changing circumstances.
**Physical Strain**:
