**The opportunity**

The AVP, Retirement Transformation Delivery reports to the Global Head of Retirement Operations. This role is a key member of the transformation delivery team and is accountable to drive a transformation of our North American Operations function under the banner of Program RIDE.

**Program RIDE**

The Retirement Innovation & Delivery Excellence (Program RIDE) initiative is a multi-year, multi workstream transformation of Manulife’s Retirement Operations organization - including People, Processes, Systems and Data. This initiative will help generate efficiencies of $20+ million annual run rate savings for our Retirement organization. Program RIDE leverages our skills and capabilities across Divisions and geographies to achieve a world-class global Operations organization. The aspects of this initiative include the objective to standardize, simplify and automate our processes and functions for our Global Retirement businesses and achieve a Target Operating Model.

**Responsibilities**:

- Own and lead all technology initiatives under the umbrella of Program RIDE
- Be the Ops ambassador on the Canadian and US Retirement business valuestreams championing end to end process thinking, digitization, standardization, and reduction of manual work
- Drive the digital ambition convening, launching, and overseeing initiatives to drive an increase in our level of straight-thru-processing (STP)
- Be the Ops thought leader and partner with our technology function to determine the best path forward on core infrastructure challenges and own the Global Retirement Ops technology book of work

**What we are looking for**:

- At least 10 years of related business experience gained from asset management, financial institutions, corporate finance, corporate development, strategic consulting, investment operations, risk management, or other similar experience
- A strong background in global operations leadership
- High level of discernment, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills needed to effectively build relationships and connect with Executives, internals partners, and customers
- Ability to work effectively within a matrixed, geographically dispersed team, using knowledge acquired across the organization and within a global workforce
- Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple geographies and/or business units and effectively work through others
- Demonstrated team leadership to include, management and people development skills
