MacEwan University’s Bachelor of Music focuses on the performance, interpretation, creation, production, and culture of jazz and contemporary popular music and offers seven routes of study: Performance major; Composition major; Recording and Production major; General, without minor; General, Music Technology and Production minor; General, Music Career Management minor; General, Music Education minor; and General, Song Writing minor.

The Department of Music is situated within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications (FFAC) of MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. In 2017, the Department moved to a new state-of-the-art facility at MacEwan University’s main campus in close proximity to the downtown arts district. MacEwan Music has been part of the city’s vibrant arts community since the early 1970s, and its Bachelor of Music degree builds on its reputation as one of the finest post-secondary music programs in Canada.
