Kalapaw Filipino Cuisine in the West Island is welcoming qualified Line Cooks to join our restaurant team today

Mostly daytime shifts available (starting at 9am), some evening shifts.

Our Line Cook’s accountabilities include:

- Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Preparing and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets food safety guidelines
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Assisting with dishwashing as needed
- Following proper food handling and storage procedures
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Positive communication, the ability to demonstrate calm, clean, and constructive criticism within a high traffic team environment

Requirements/Skills:

- 1+ year experience in the food industry as a cook or prep cook or Culinary schooling
- Canadian working permit (no sponsorship)
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods (MAPAQ certificate a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed
