Part Time Community Disability Worker I

**_Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a part time (8 hours/week) Community Disability Worker I in Red Deer._**

**_Please note: shifts will be every other weekend on Saturday/Sunday_**

**Job Summary**:
As a Community Disability Worker, you will provide high quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities who live in the community.

Motivated, compassionate and organized, you will enthusiastically assist by providing outreach supports to adults with developmental disabilities living independently or semi-independently in the community. Supports are provided by professional staff to assist individuals in developing and enhancing their life skills based on their own personal goals, abilities, and desires. Open to learning new things, you will teach independent living skills, provide companionship, support behavioral challenges, provide personal care, and implement programs tailored to individual needs. You will be required to accompany individuals on outings and engage in activities supporting their interests as well as their well-being. You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team. You have great relationship building skills and are proficient with computers.

Your ability to be flexible is necessary. Days/evenings/weekends are part of the requirement for this position.

**Education & Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 education (education in Human Services is considered an asset)
- A minimum 1 year working with persons with developmental disabilities will be considered an asset
- Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or City Police detachment
- Child Intervention Record Check
- Standard First Aid Certification is considered an asset
- Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle (with two million dollars liability insurance)
- Clear and current driver's abstract
