**Responsibilities**:

- Develops estimates and budgets for hard bid, design/build and maintenance proposals including material prices, labour costs and equipment costs based on drawings and specs and submits proposals
- Undertake pre-construction development, including project scope and critical path scheduling, and identify the associated risks/issues
- Request, evaluate and recommend sub-trade quotations where applicable and ensure accuracy and conformance to project plans and specifications
- Communicate effectively with Owners and Engineers and in a professional manner to develop your relationships and ensure repeat business
- Work with Project Managers to plan a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent as required
- Manage incoming and outgoing bid request. Work with senior management to decide bid/no bid decision.
- Be a resource for Project Managers as the construction or service project progresses
- Provide other duties as requested and require
- Assists in establishing with owner overall project benchmarks and target costs; responsible for forecasting and analysis
- Provides input to the project execution and overall procurement strategy and individual contract strategies
- Ensures subcontractors are in compliance with company estimation requirements with smooth flow of reporting from subcontractors to management systems; conducts quantity surveying and verification of qualification developed by the subcontractors
- Reviews all tender documentation and drawings; accountable for accuracy and timeliness of tender submissions
- Coordinates and/or attends pre-bid meetings to confirm scope of work and proposal submission requirements
- Reviews and approves all bid packages before submission

**What you bring to the table**:

- 4-7 years of Mechanical Estimating experience is REQUIRED
- Experience in the Construction industry is REQUIRED
- Experience in project management considered an asset
- Proficient computer skills in MS products
- Experience in undertaking conceptual estimates
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings; including architectural, mechanical

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Greater Toronto Area, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Commercial Mechanical Estimating: 4 years (required)
