Purpose

**Main Responsibilities**:
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Full cycle recruiting including online job postings, phone screening, background checks, employment offers, and onboarding.
- Develops new and updates existing job descriptions to match current trends/needs.
- Prepares and deploys employee contracts.
- Deploys and organizes all onboarding requirements for new employees.
- Facilitates general onboarding for site level employees (review of hiring documents,).
- Works closely with all hiring managers in fulfilling recruitment and onboarding needs.

Legal and Compliance Practices
- Ensures employee files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation.
- Maintains current knowledge of local/regional/provincial laws and employment regulations (i.e. ESA, OHS, AODA, Bill 168, WSIB etc.).
- Ensures compliance with procedure for accessing, reviewing, and auditing employee files and ensures compliance with the Privacy Act.

Other
- Participates in the communication and effective implementation of change initiatives.
- Successfully works with all levels and all departments of SKPM in an HR capacity.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Post-secondary degree in a Human Resources program preferred.
- CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.

Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar Human Resources position.
- Property management experience an asset.

Skills and abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and be well-organized, detail-oriented and results-focused.
- Ability to understand a range of HR and business data.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Office software (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Customer service oriented.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Politically and culturally sensitive.
- Professional appearance and disposition.
