**J**ob Summary
The Maintenance Worker will provide a high standard of building maintenance and will take care of everyday maintenance for the agency and its six (6) locations.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Undertakes preventative maintenance and repairs to buildings, equipment and receives work orders/work schedule from the supervisor.
- Performs various semi-skilled tasks in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and non mechanical equipment, construction and in general building and grounds maintenance (i.e. plumbing, dry wall, etc).
- Advise management when there is a need for trade’s people / supervise contractors/ purchase supplies / pick up deliveries of maintenance supplies / restock inventory Receive shipments / check packing slips
- Performs general construction, maintenance and repairs such as building repairs, setting up equipment, repair of furniture, equipment, etc.
- Performs general grounds keeping duties such as landscaping, snow removal, installation of flooring materials, etc.
- Performs a variety of work not requiring the services of a licensed trade.
- Perform minor repairs in units at the time of turnover, including caulking, wall and ceiling repairs, painting, etc.
- Maintain cleaning and other equipment in good working order, and report other repairs.
- Performs inspections for equipment failure, and reports mechanical failures to the supervisor.
- Moves furniture, furnishings and equipment as required.
- Maintain appropriate logs required using an online communications system.
- Check panels and perform monthly fire tests of equipment as required. Ensure accurate and current entries in fire logs. Participate in all emergency procedures and drills.
- Reports to the supervisor and addresses any vandalism, disturbances and/or emergencies as soon as they occur/are discovered.
- Ensure that appropriate safety supplies, equipment and materials are on site and that all tasks are performed within WHMIS, WSIB, OHSA, insurance requirements and the Agency's Policy, including the wearing of appropriate protective clothing.
- Performs other related work, as assigned.
