Centre Supervisor Rece

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
You would work in co-operation with the Executive Director in provide leadership in supporting the administration, operation and communication with in the child care program. As Supervisior you will be responsible in the co-ordination of the staff, volunteers, and students, in accordance with the C.C.E.Y.A and Centre policies and procedures. We are seeking a person that can be a role model for staff, parents, and children. The Supervisor would need to ensure a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment.
Wages would take into account the level of experience with a start base of $17.00 +
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in licensed child care programs and activities, including knowledge of: policies and procedures relating to the operation of a child care centre; child guidance techniques for healthy children as well as children with physical or developmental challenges; child development; standard methods of behavioural observation.
- Demonstrated ability to direct, instruct and care for children.
- Ability to handle emergencies, crises, hostile behaviour and maintain control in frustrating situations.
- Ability to use professional judgment on a daily basis within guidelines established by the CCEYA, regional and program policies and to find solutions, consulting with the Director.
- Ability to provide work direction to staff members.
- Ability to accommodate competing demands.
- Ability to maintain neat and accurate information and financial records.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with children, parents, staff, outside agencies, regulators, and the public.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to children, parents and staff.
- Thorough knowledge of equipment used for the operation of the program.
- Ability to carry/lift/move moderately heavy items.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime if needed.
- Willingness to work in conditions involving exposure to: bodily fluid infectious diseases; frequent high noise levels; occasional inclement weather.
- Some working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, CCEYA, Human Rights Act, Labour Relations Act, Canada Food Guide, Accessibility Act.
ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a Registered Early Childhood Education Diploma and be a member of the College of ECE and in good standing.
- 3 years + administrative experience in the child care field.
- Competent computer skills.
- Current to 6 months First Aid with CPR for children certification.
- All immunizations up to date with a TB Test current to 6 months.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
