**Position Description**:
The Clinical Research Project Coordinator will work closely with the Clinical Research Manager and/or Principal Investigator (PI) to assist in the operations of clinical research studies in pediatric oncology supportive care and quality of life, with a focus in data analytics and data sciences. The Clinical Research Project Coordinator coordinates clinical research studies according to regulatory and institutional guidelines and requirements. This includes coordinating patient recruitment and data collection, study administration, preparing consents and paperwork required by the Research Ethics Board, and organizing data entry and analysis. The CRPC also assist in the preparation of study results, including presentations, progress reports, and manuscripts. The CRC may also fulfill Clinical Research Assistant responsibilities.

**Here’s What You’ll Get to Do**

Project Related (40% of role):

- Assist with the conduct of a variety of studies focused on supportive care in children undergoing chemotherapy, including developing and monitoring timelines for study.
- Assist in design of case-report forms and/or questionnaire
- Develop informed consent documents based on regulations, REB consent templates and institutional requirements. Submit to REB and coordinate revisions. Assist PI with annual approval process and amend protocols and consents as required.
- Encourage and foster collaborative relationships with healthcare team at SickKids, other participating centres
- Administer study questionnaires and conduct interviews with children with cancer, their parents, and health care professionals. Conduct health chart reviews.

Data Analytics (20% of role)
- Assist with database design, in conjunction with PI and Database Analyst. Ensure the quality of the database and supervise database cleaning. Perform/assist with data entry and analysis, including planning.
- Develop analytical methods for data and information processing
- Participate in the development of a program centered on machine learning with an initial focus on data from the electronic health records
- Collaborate with the machine learning specialist to ensure accuracy of the data and analysis
- Help to define and improve our internal standards for coding style, maintainability, and best practices

General Administrative (40% of role):

- Assist with tasks related to grant and/or manuscript preparation
- Organize a variety of meetings/conferences/events and make arrangements including meeting rooms, meals, and audiovisual equipment services
- Assist in training/orientation of new research staff
- Prepare, submit invoices and maintain budget records

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- Post-secondary degree in sciences, computer science, statistics, health sciences
- 1-2 years’ experience in a clinical research setting is preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with children and/or youth
- Knowledge in pediatric oncology is considered an asset
- Proficiency in R, SQL, Python, Git and shell scripting
- Experience implementing algorithms for the processing of large datasets.
- Excellent project and time management skills and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a diverse team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated creativity and latitude in problem solving, including the ability to prioritize and execute multiple competing tasks

**Employment Type**: Temporary, Full-time (1 year contract with possibility of extension)
