Material Technician

**About Academy**

Academy is a well-established and fast-growing fabrication company with location in both Onoway and Edmonton, AB. We service a wide rage of industries which includes oil & gas, mining, and other heavy industrial sectors.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Comply with Academy HSE program
- Mentor current, and new employees
- Receives shipments and ensures they are complete and in good order
- Handles and stores products
- Picks/Packs/Loads/Ships orders
- Operates powered material handling equipment (_bobcat/forklift_)
- Proper housekeeping and organization

**Requirements**:
Education
- Grade 12 diploma with 1-2 years of related experience

**Qualifications**:

- Basic computer knowledge is an asset
- Ability to read and understand receiving paperwork including bills, labels and invoices for products
- Class 5 or higher with clean drivers abstract. GDL will be considered

**Skills**:

- Capable of physical labour
- Must be proficient using forklift
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be motivated individual and a cooperative team player

**Salary**: $32.00-$38.25 per hour

**Experience**:

- jovix software: 1 year (preferred)
- pipe fabrication shop: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (required)
