**_ Position Duties and Responsibilities:_**
- Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
- Prepare floors for installations.
- Perform direct glue-down carpet installations.
- Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding.
- Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors.
- Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces.
- Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
- Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
- Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests before flooring installations.

**_ Required Qualifications:_**
- Carpet trade certification or equivalent would be an asset
- Two (2) years of working experience are an asset.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations would be an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

**_ Physical Requirements:_**
- Must be able to stand and be on their feet 10-12 hours/day.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
