Overview:
**Why GM Financial Credit?**

**Role Overview**: You will be responsible for researching, analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential customers (Consumer & Commercial). The analyst will have daily contact with other departments within the corporation, as well as automotive dealers and other finance sources.

- Maintaining/exceeding established standards and targets while adhering to all credit policies, procedures and guidelines
- Assessing credit worthiness of prospective customers and approving / recommending credit terms and limits appropriate to the customer's requirements on Consumer & Commercial accounts
- Establish dealer relationships by building rapport through telephone contact
- Ability to take initiative and work in a team environment to deliver excellent customer service in meeting turnaround times by processing requests
- Flexible, reliable, conscientious and able to follow directions
- Negotiate terms and conditions of loan decisions with dealers within established approval/exception guidelines
- Promote and provide a high standard of service to dealers and other areas within the company/adhering to service standard guidelines
- Maintain good channels of communication with all business units including interaction with senior leadership team
- Contribute to operational improvements to streamline procedures/processes and enhance service

Qualifications:

- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You are an innovative thinker with strong ability for strategic vision.
- You have the ability to analyze credit data to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
- You achieve required credit quality and productivity by ensuring all queues are worked to acceptable service levels.
- You have knowledge of consumer finance and banking environment.
- You have an ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- You have excellent negotiation skills.
- You have a strong work ethic.
- You ensure credit center office cooperation with other departments to maximize efficiency within the company.
- You possess customer relations skills.

**Experience**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree with emphasis in Marketing/Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0-2 years background in consumer finance industry, auto finance preferred
- Must be able to service customers in English and French, this a bilingual position.
