**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager of Oncology Clinical Programs, the Cancer Care Quality Leader provides quality leadership for all cancer services provided within the program, with a focus on systemic therapy. This role promotes fundamental improvements and innovation to quality management practices enhancing overall quality performance and care delivery for patients and families. The Quality Leader will advance cancer care within the context of the NSH CCP strategic plan and goals by providing:

- Leadership and support to the Cancer Care Program Leadership Team, Quality Committees, re strategic and operational planning, clinical and environmental efficiency, data collection, auditing and reporting, performance measurement, quality improvement, patient/staff safety and evaluation initiatives.
- Coordination and collaboration through many NSH partners: Quality Improvement and Safety, Inter-professional Practice and Learning, Infection and Prevention Control, Finance, Performance and Analytics, Patient Flow, Patient Engagement, Occupational Health Safety and Wellness and Health Information Records.
- Coordination and collaboration with external partners such as the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) to advance initiatives and projects.
- Knowledge and expertise in the identification, development and implementation of operational and performance measurement initiatives that impact positively on the outcomes for patients and families.
- Leadership and decision support for health systems analysis and redesign initiatives consistent with a population health and integrated health system approach,
- Data analysis, interpretation, and research support in the form of statistical reports, literature reviews, environmental scans, best practice guidelines and benchmarking standards.
- Leadership in the implementation of internal quality related analyses and initiatives e.g. Accreditation.
- This position strives to uphold Nova Scotia Health’s (NSH) Strategic Plan and operational goals.

The Cancer Care Quality Leader uses their knowledge and skills to make recommendations to the CCP Quality Council on developing, prioritizing, implementing, and evaluating quality initiatives. The Cancer Care Quality Leader demonstrates proficiency with project planning and project management methodologies. They possess strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to work as a member of a team, facilitate groups, collaborate, and present information within various levels of NSH.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Bachelor's degree in a related health care discipline
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) regulated health professional in Nova Scotia
- National certification in oncology is strongly encouraged
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience in clinical practice in a systemic therapy specialty practice required
- Experience in applied analytical activities, strategic planning, project management, facilities planning, program development and evaluation, or quality improvement initiatives in a health care setting
- Demonstrated understanding of interrelationships of clinical and supportive hospital departments and services involved in program delivery
- Demonstrated expertise and understanding of cancer care and unique data systems
- Knowledge of the CIHI and associate databases an asset
- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada and the accreditation process and standards
- Excellent team building, group facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Well-developed decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and commitment to the protection of personal health information
