**The Opportunity**:
Shipfusion is looking for a Jr. Business Analyst to join our growing team As a Jr. Finance Associate you will work within our Finance team to ensure effective intake and analysis of all data relating to our carrier relationships and finances at Shipfusion. You will receive ample coaching and appropriate feedback as you grow and flourish in this role

In this role you will

**Financial Job Duties**:

- Day-to-day bookkeeping including inputting/reconciling invoices
- Collecting outstanding account receivables (i.e. reaching out to past due accounts and monitoring higher-risk customers, etc.)
- Addressing client requests and/or inquiries related to financial account matters
- Preparing detailed excel reports for each revenue stream to support profit margin improvements
- Maintaining internal reports on key performance indicators (KPI’s) and supporting other strategic initiatives as they arise
- Proactively looking for innovative processes, automations and reporting improvements to improve timeliness and speed of key financial deliverables
- Assisting the Finance Director with working capital opportunities, potential opportunistic investments and managing operational challenges
- Running reports to support management decision making
- Assisting with month end activities (i.e. depreciation entries, manual journal entries) and billing customers
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.

**Carrier Analysis Functions**:

- Assist with negotiating rates with our carrier partners including but not limited to DHL, UPS, USPS, Fedex and create rate cards for internal use
- Be present in all meetings with carrier contacts and deliver on key takeaways from these meetings
- Collect, interpret, and analyze various types of data including carrier rates, shipping costs, package weights and carrier invoices
- Utilize data to drive transportation execution with our carriers and make strategic decisions with leadership based on their findings
- Utilize problem-solving methods to identify opportunities and initiate projects to drive sustainable savings in cost and process improvements
- Analyze data to identify trends and challenges, and use the data to provide insights to drive improvements through operational initiatives while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Research potential new carriers in provinces and states and build new carrier relationships as Shipfusion continues to grow
- Create reports and data dashboards as requested by upper-level management executives.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.

**What You’ll Bring to the Team (Required Skills)**:

- Undergraduate degree preferred
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience, preferably in a startup environment
- Demonstrate ability to analyze data sets using excel/google sheets to identify complex issues and develop solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of excel functions and using excel to analyze large sets of data
- Demonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Critical thinker excited about solving problems with long-term solutions
- Experience working closely with carriers considered a large asset
