Reports to: Campground Manager

Position Overview:
Lead Groundkeeper is responsible for overseeing and managing the grounds maintenance team at the resort. The role is to ensure that the resorts outdoor areas like green spaces, walkways, playgrounds, beach and other exterior spaces are well-maintained and washrooms are cleaned.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision & Management:

- Coordinate and supervise the grounds/maintenance staff.
- Develop work schedules and assign duties to staff.
- Ensure tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Train new employees on cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety protocols.

2. Housekeeping Duties:

- Oversee cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing of interior spaces (e.g., glamping tents, bathrooms, pavilion, and store).
- Conduct daily inspections to verify that areas are clean and in good condition.

3. Grounds Maintenance Duties:

- Ensure lawns, gardens, pathways, and outdoor facilities are well-maintained.
- Ensure garbage bins and recycling bins are maintained and emptied.
- Ensure camp sites are clean and available for incoming campers.
- Supervise mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and general landscaping tasks.
- Coordinate outdoor cleanliness, including litter removal and pest control.
- Inspect and maintain outdoor facilities including pools, and playgrounds.
- Complete water testing, per Alberta Health Standards.

4. Health and Safety Compliance:

- Ensure the staff follows safety protocols when using cleaning supplies and machinery.
- Identify potential hazards and take steps to prevent accidents.
- Maintain compliance with local regulations regarding waste disposal and environmental impact.

5. Customer Service:

- Address guest or resident complaints and requests regarding cleanliness or grounds.
- Work with guest services to ensure a seamless experience for campers.

6. Reporting:

- Prepare reports on maintenance schedules, cleaning activities, and staff performance.
- Ensure any needed repairs or improvements are reported to upper management.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and provide clear instructions.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and landscaping.
- Problem Solving: Addressing issues with cleaning, grounds, or guest requests effectively.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and staff schedules efficiently.
- Knowledge of Cleaning and Landscaping: Understanding of proper techniques and equipment use.

This role combines technical knowledge with managerial skills to ensure the property is well presented, both inside and out.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
