**About Strescon Limited**

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

**Job Summary**

This role is responsible for detailing architectural and structural precast concrete elements and precast building layouts. The Precast Detailer works with structural and architectural contract drawings while following the procedures for modeling with our Tekla Software (class, finishes, prefix). To be successful in this role, one must be able to interpret reinforcing sketches, create accurate drawings and sequencing (layouts, elevations, sections). Communication and collaboration with Project Managers, Engineering, Shop and Erection is critical to ensure accuracy and to guarantee that each project is completed accurately and on time.

**Responsibilities**
- Detailing architectural and structural precast concrete members, including bridges, building and miscellaneous members
- Precast building layouts
- Working with structural and architectural contract drawings
- Other duties as assigned.

**Technical Requirements**
- Post-Secondary education in Civil, Architectural, Structural or Mechanical Technology is preferred; however, less education combined with appropriate experience will be taken into consideration
- Previous experience with drafting/detailing and experience using a computerized 3D drafting software package is a definite asset

**Business Requirements**
- Ability to work in a steady and even pace to promote accuracy and quality of work
- High attention to detail
- Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset
- Ability to read construction drawings is an asset

- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
