The N’Swakamok Indigenous Friendship Centre (NIFC) is currently accepting resumes for the position of **Custodian**. Full time (35 hrs/wk)

**ACCOUNTABILITY**:
The position reports directly to the Executive Director.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The duties of the Custodian include cleaning and maintaining facilities, performing minor repairs, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. This involves tasks like sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; emptying trash; sanitizing restrooms; and dusting surfaces. The Custodian will be responsible for grounds maintenance, such as use of a snowblower and shoveling in front entrance and exit areas, restocking supplies, basic repairs and moving of furniture in various offices as requested.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum of **two** years of recent work experience in industrial cleaning/custodial related work.
- Experience with the use of professional floor care equipment.
- The physical ability to meet the requirements, with regards to heavy lifting of material and furniture.
- Able to work with minimum supervision; dependable and self-starter.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous language and culture is an asset.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors.
- Must provide a CPIC, which includes screening for vulnerable position.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
