As a result of continued growth, PermaCorp has an opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager to join our Edmonton team
**Profile**
Reporting to the VP Operations, the **Plant Manager**’s responsibilities include establishing processes to ensure all daily operations of the Edmonton facility run smoothly and effectively. The Plant Manager is responsible for the complete operational process on an ongoing basis to maximize production performance within established safety, quality, and cost parameters. The Plant Manager will be innovative and entrepreneurial and have excellent strategic planning and operational working knowledge.
**Duties**
- In partnership with the VP Operations, responsible for direction of the company’s Edmonton factory location creating location specific targets that meet overall company objectives.
- Responsible for overseeing daily operations and plant management; including planning, integration and execution of the production schedule, manpower planning, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and customer service.
- Study the business and operational processes and determine if corrective action/improvements are required.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise and approve high-priority projects within the department.
- Lead management teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs. Establish and monitor continuous improvements on departmental KPIs and OKRs.
- Work with VP Operations to manage budgets and control costs; review weekly forecasts, capital expenditures, headcount, etc.
- Oversee and approve the training of departmental employees in their assigned roles to achieve the company's standards for quality, quantity, and safety, consistent with the company's principles.
- Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communications with employees. Ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment; including all equipment, workstations, and devices.
- Ensure the company is acting in accordance with ESA and OHSA and other internal or external applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations, including serving as member of the OH&S Committee.
Other tasks as assigned by the VP Operations.
**Required Skills/Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field (e.g., Civil, Structural, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering) or Business is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an Engineering/Operations role required; strong construction product knowledge an asset. Aluminum industry experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in General or Plant Management; experience in small batch custom manufacturing required.
- In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) required
- Lean Manufacturing and Project Management experience considered an asset
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive problem solver.
**Physical Requirements**
- Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner
- Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs
- Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.
**Schedule**
The Plant Manager position is a salaried, management role, therefore exempt from overtime. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday between 7:30AM to 4:30PM. This role is based primarily from the Head Office location in Edmonton, however there will be some work required in a shop, therefore exposure to manufacturing production elements requiring PPE.
