**About the position**:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. You will be working independently and part of our team to safely dismantle unoccupied structures at our various demolition sites.
- Efficiently operate excavators of various sizes with attachments (buckets, shears, hammers, grabbers, etc. )
- Process and load construction debris for transport: separating different materials for reclamation, recycling, or salvage (rebar from concrete, metal from wood)
- Perform basic maintenance on machines (i.e., replacing hoses, cleaning tracks, keep your equipment clean, etc. )
- Adhere to safe work practices
- Complete mandatory daily paperwork (Field Level Risk Assessments, Pre-Trips, Extra Work Orders, Digital Timecards, etc. )
- Comply with company policies
- Effectively communicate with crews
- Perform other duties as assigned

**About You**:
- Previous demolition experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years full-time experience on an excavator
- Reliable and able to work overtime as needed
- Self-motivated, conscientious, diligent and safety conscious
- Valid Class 5 or 7BC Drivers License; abstract required at hire
- Level 1 Occupational First Aid is an asset
- Willing to work out of town if needed, additional pay incentives for non-local work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Smart phone proficient (safety app & electronic timesheets)
- Must have own CSA approved work boots; company provides all other required PPE
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Able to contribute positively and work well with the team environment
