Employment Support Worker

WINS Warehouse Ready Employment Service provides training and work experience to enable Albertans to find and maintain employment within the Warehouse industry. This service will endeavor to facilitate self-sufficiency, shape values and attitudes, grow skills and develop warehouse competencies.

Reporting to the Employment Services Coordinator, the Employment Support Worker is responsible for the delivery and facilitation of the Warehouse Ready Employment Service program. The role will consist of day-to-day classroom instruction, completing evaluations and providing coaching and support to participants.

Here’s What You’ll Get to Do*

Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for WINS participants
- Working with the WINS program team and other stakeholders to support the Warehouse Ready Employment Service for delivery to WINS participants
- Facilitation of the day to day classroom sessions in accordance to the curriculum delivery; fill in for warehouse facilitators and help deliver in warehouse training for participants
- Assist in the management of the warehouse ready employment service including; participant evaluation, service evaluation, ongoing improvement and administration
- Conduct the assessment of participants through the service. Identify areas of improvement and support participants in achieving success
- Contribute to the placement support process for clients after service completion
- Work with the Employment Services Team to maintain of participant records including; intake, evaluations, placements, statistics and demographic data
- Support the updating of service curriculum and learning materials
- Support in the preparation of reports on service successes and challenges for management, stakeholders, Board of Directors
- Represent and promote the Warehouse Ready Program
- Other duties as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need*

Experience in classroom facilitation is a significant asset
- Experience in the warehouse industry is an asset. Knowledge of the skills required to be a successful warehouse employee
- Post-secondary education related to adult learning and training (Education, Human Resources, etc.) is a significant asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Excellent presentation, customer service and coaching skills
- Superior communication, collaboration, and motivational skills with both participants and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Experience working with marginalized and diverse populations and an understanding of issues that may impact women in crisis and/or in low
- income situations
- Team player with a desire to go above and beyond job description duties to ensure success of services and people
- Strong personal affinity for helping others succeed
- High proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong PowerPoint skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and have access to a reliable vehicle
- Available to work occasional weekends and evenings
- Must provide satisfactory results of a Vulnerable Sector Search check through Calgary Police Service
