The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive, diverse, equitable, safe and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties, an area of 5,250 square kilometres and a total of 23 schools.

**Assignment**:

- Ferry Monitor for student - approximately 3 to 5 hours per day, depending upon if you live in Chester or on Tancook Island
- Wages depnding upon qualifications

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- First Aid Training
- Experience working with children / youth

**Characteristics**:

- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

- Team player, committed to promoting quality service

8:00am Ferry leaves Tancook

10:20am Ferry arrives in Chester. Student's Teaching Assistant is waiting to walk student to school

3:40pm Ferry leaves Chester. Student's Teaching Assistant walks student to the ferry

4:30pm Ferry arrives on Tancook

Paid travel time: 3 hours & 30 minutes

10:20am Ferry arrives in Chester. Student's Teaching Assistant is waiting to walk student to school

4:30pm Ferry arrives on Tancook

5:30pm Ferry arrives back in Chester

Paid travel time: 5 hours & 30 minutes
- Bus assistants will travel on designated and provides assistance in student management, basic first aid and evacuations.
- The successful incumbent will be trained in emergency evacuation, student behavior management and first aid.
