Dog Wrangler

**Job description**

Pathfinder Pet Care & Dog Ranch, located in Steveston (Richmond) is seeking a full-time Dog Wrangler and Pet Care Specialist.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and facilitate safe off-leash dog play with our day camp and overnight guests
- Prep and feed meals
- Assist with client check-ins and check-outs
- Administer medications
- Complete on-going ranch chores related to pet care and facility care

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Commitment to learning and practicing fear free and positive reinforcement techniques
- Basic understanding of canine behaviour and strong interest in becoming proficient
- Comfortable in working with all breeds, sizes and dog personalities
- Physically fit, strong and willing to work in all weather conditions
- Experience owning your own pets and/or being a primary caregiver for dog(s)
- Must have your own reliable transportation (we are located in a rural setting, not close to a bus stop)

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Practice fear free and positive reinforcement techniques
- Solid understanding of canine behaviour
- Confidence and competency working with all breeds, sizes and dog personalities
- Physically fit, strong and willing to work in all weather conditions
- Prefer experience working in a pet care facility (dog daycare/ vet / kennel / horse stable / animal shelter or similar)
- Must have your own reliable transportation (we are located in a rural setting, not close to a bus stop)

Full-time employees are entitled to health & dental benefits after 3 months probation.

Wage negotiable based on experience. Training wage during 1st month.

**Job Types**: Full-time - 30-40hrs/week - Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Richmond, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
