We are looking for an exception **PSW CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR**to join our faculty.

The **Clinical Instructor is responsible for all aspects of the clinical placement portion of the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program**. He or she works with the theory instructors, program coordinators and management team to deliver on all student placement requirements as outlined by the Ministry of Labour and the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and will be required to follow Computek College’s policies and procedures.
- **Must be available to commute to the campus or clinical facilities as required on the scheduled weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (or extended hours as approved by the Faculty Affairs Manager)**_

**Duties**
- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field
- Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials
- Make a detailed plan and ensure that regular visits are scheduled and executed.
- Supervise and guide PSW students while they are in placement centers that include long-term care facilities, hospitals or community centers
- Demonstrate and oversees safe and effective methods of caring patients
- Establish and maintain excellent communication with all placement sites on a regular basis
- Communicate with the placement preceptors about the performance of the PSW students while they are in placement centers.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly, provide feedback on student performance in a timely manner
- Address and resolve any issues arising in the placement centers by communicating with students and preceptors.
- Ensure PSW students follow placement centers policies and guidelines
- Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment
- Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude
- Maintain attendance records accurately
- Ensure the PSW lab equipment is complete and assist in Ministry or NACC auditing
- Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation
- Ensure the collection and proper filing of all student placement documents and

**Qualifications**
- RN or RPN (current and in good standing) with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or experienced PSW is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, a comparable amount of training, or a mix of both, preferably in the healthcare field or nursing is desirable
- One (1) year of relevant experience in higher education institutions is an assest
- Proven track record of managing a group of learners from various backgrounds.
- Capable in fostering pleasant learning environments for young adult students.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
- Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles
- Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model
- Able to work both alone and as a team member
