**Position Title: LANDSCAPE PROJECT MANAGER**

**Reports to: President**

The Landscape Project Manager will be self-motivated and possess strong communication, on-site coaching and organization skills. This Landscape Project Manager position requires multiple years of landscape industry experience, with a proven track record of successfully installing residential landscape construction projects.

**Responsibilities**

**1. Field Operations**

**Crew Management**:

- Oversees the daily activities of the Crew Leaders and subcontractors who perform the duties associated with landscape installations managing the project from start to finish.
- Motivates staff to achieve service excellence and exceed customer expectations.
- Provides on-site training in job duties, equipment operation and company policies and procedures to maximize efficiencies, productivity, and safety.
- Monitors staff performance and conducts regular evaluations.
- Makes recommendations for hires, promotions and pay increases.
- Develops staff by working with them to build and support a team environment.
- Demonstrates role model behaviours on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting the

Eden Gardenworks standards.
- Ensures work areas tidy - office, yard, compound & vehicles.
- Develops and ensures implementation of best practices procedures throughout all areas of the division.
- Works with associations, vendors and subcontractors to stay abreast of new methods.
- Oversees quality control and ensures all service and quality issues rectified efficiently.

**Scheduling**:

- Maintains the proper staff for the backlog of work; adjusting staff for seasonal fluctuations - maximizing the personnel resources and equipment of the company.
- Coordinates subcontractors to maximize company production efforts and ensure jobs are being executed in a timely fashion.
- Ensures projects are kept to deadlines - actual hours / days / materials are equal to or less than estimated.

**Safety**:

- Oversees enforcement of Company policies in regard to health and safety and operating procedures.
- Communicates workplace hazards and control procedures to workers.
- Takes reasonable precautions to ensure safety of workers.
- Actively supports and participate in the health and safety program.
- Performs workplace inspections and information sessions.
- Participates in accident investigations, correcting substandard acts or conditions.
- Provides on-site training in job duties, equipment operation and company policies and procedures to maximize efficiencies and productivity-ensuring staff are properly signed off prior to operating equipment.

**Equipment**:

- Makes recommendations for equipment or other asset purchases based upon targeted goals and operational needs.
- Monitors equipment for ‘wear and tear’ and ensures regular maintenance and repairs are conducted. Ensures vehicles and equipment are kept clean and in good repair.
- Assigns and organizes equipment resources in a manner that limits items being lost or stolen.
- Orders supplies and materials such as commercial oils and lubricants and equipment parts.

**2. Administrative**
- Works with the Landscape Estimator and Designer to review project scope of work. (project proposal, design plan, work orders, value engineer the build etc.)
- Works closely with the President and Designer to support project installation and quality.
- Participates in bi-weekly ‘tailgate’ sessions, weekly Landscape operations & scheduling meetings and weekly 1:1 individual meeting with President.
- Monitors, verifies and prepares timesheets for payroll processing.
- Responsible for all paperwork related to the flow of information through the Landscape Division i.e. daily attendance, timesheets, production reports, employee reviews and disciplinary paperwork and other material to control costs and increase revenue.
- Works with Health & Safety Manager to identify hazards & develop SOP’s.
- Manages the weather call.

**Qualifications**:
**Technical skills/job knowledge**:

- 5+ years of experience managing construction crews installing $2 Million in revenue or more within the landscape or construction industry.
- Must exhibit excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
- Encompasses strong interpersonal, planning, analytical skills and business acumen for effective decision making.
- Knowledge of business software, Microsoft Office, etc.
- A passion for service excellence.
- Highly motivated with excellent time management discipline.

**Behavioural skills**:

- Ability to execute processes in a mentally demanding and fast paced, diverse work environment.
- Possesses the stamina and drive to work well under pressure and deal with problems in a positive manner.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally; where employees are engaged and motivated.
