We are hiring for a Machine Operator.
About the Role This role is for Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, 5 DAYS/WEEK (40 hours) The Foil Stamper Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor. This role is responsible for setting up and operating the Foil Stamping equipment to perform stamping and embossing in the manufacture of folding cartons.
What You Bring to the Team
- High school level Mathematics and English language skills.
- 3-4 years’ experience setting up and operating die-cutting / embossing or foil stamping equipment, preferably in the printing/folding carton industry using Bobst die cutting / foil stamping or similar machines.
- Mechanical aptitude to analyze and trouble shoot machinery and foil stamping and embossing process issues combined with manual dexterity to use tooling and undertake precise adjustments to machinery.
- Interpersonal skills to work co-operatively as part of a team.
- Able to make decisions and exercise sound judgment.
- Keen visual inspection skills to detect quality defects.
- Basic knowledge of computers to be able to learn/use custom software programs
About the Job
- Reads and understands docket instructions and specifications, seeking clarification and guidance if/as necessary.
- Sets ups, operates and runs the Vision foil stamping equipment in keeping with required specifications and requirements.
- Locates appropriate stock and loads into the feeding end (flips loads when required if printed on both sides).
- Retrieves applicable dies and other materials needed for the job run, checking for damage or issues.
- Ensures a high quality product is consistently and efficiently produced, minimizing waste.
- Undertakes in-process inspections at required intervals making fine-tune adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Monitors heated chase and foil during each production run.
- Reports quality issues and non-conformances to Quality and/or the Production Supervisor.
- Data enters production data into Amtech in a timely manner ensuring accuracy.
- Completes docket and department related paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Undertakes routine troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery documenting accordingly.
- Responsible for adhering to housekeeping practices.
- Must follow GMP, Quality, and Health & Safety operating procedures
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
