**ROLE SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, the Buyer - Subcontracting Manufacturing will source, negotiate, and purchase a variety of sub-contract machining and fabrication requirements in accordance with departmental goals, objectives, and best practices. The Buyer - Subcontracting Manufacturing will also be involved in Purchase Order management - confirmations, expediting, problem resolution and processing NCR’s.
Responsibilities include:
- Process purchasing documentation (i.e., Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Cancellation Forms, and non-conforming product) in accordance with ATS policies and procedures.
- Track, monitor and maintain purchase order deliveries to drive on-time delivery to schedules.
- Communicate with, evaluate, and approve suppliers to ascertain their ability to meet company requirements, goals and objectives.
- Negotiate prices, discounts, and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
- Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.
- Prepares reports and data as required.
- Assist Senior & Intermediate Buyers with special projects and/or tasks as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
A post-secondary diploma or degree in materials management or equivalent. Supply Chain Canada (or equivalent) designation is an asset. Manufacturing or Engineering education or experience is an asset.
**Experience**:
- Theoretical or hands-on knowledge of purchasing or materials management concepts is an asset
- Experience in a custom manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings is an asset.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment.
