As POW Engineering continues to grow and the industries we operate in thrive, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a person that will carry out panel building duties in a newly renovated, naturally lit panel shop. It is for individuals that love to build, has fine motor skills, and has attention to detail. This position will join our team of experienced professionals located at our head office in Ingersoll, ON.
Working with other highly motivated builders, assemblers, welders, designers, and engineers, you will be involved with building controls panels for automated machinery. We will work closely with you to develop the skills you may not have or wish to acquire. We hope that in the process you will develop a passion for controls and automation like we do. There is nothing more exhilarating than seeing our designs come to life.
Activities:
- Laying out panel back plates and electrical control panels according to drawings and verbal instructions
- Drilling, taping and cutting holes for electrical devices on enclosures
- Check material for conformance prior to fabricating
- Mechanical assembly of control panels using necessary hand and power tools
- Wiring of control panels and assemblies as per electrical schematics and drawings
- Communicating with supervisors for work instructions
- Controlling inventory in/out of stock (for active jobs)
- Keeping shop stocked with proper tools and materials
- Performing fieldwork/installations
- Responsible for ensuring the work area is clean
- Scanning or signing various quality checklists and inventory forms
- Supporting the Quality team by setting up the final product for testing and certification
- Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation
- Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and quality check documentation
- Perform panel wire check and quality checklists
- Setting up final product for testing and certification
- Complete panel certification and power-up tests
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training
- Actively participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives, best practice methodologies, and operating procedures
- Working with an experienced team of Designers, Panel Builders, Testers and Project Managers
Role Requirements
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong conceptual mechanical aptitude
- Able to work efficiently and produce immediate results with mínimal supervision
- Attention to detail, organized, proactive and positive approach in the workplace
- 3+ years of experience in panel building, or similar industry.
- Knowledge in reading electrical schematics and drawings is an asset
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Panel Wiring Technician program or similar

**Salary**: $18.00-$32.78 per hour
