**Position overview**

The Supply Management team is looking for a **Junior Buyer** who is keen to take on the initiative and contribute to managing & exploiting changing business conditions to deliver the best value procurement to the organization.

The role centers around a clear understanding of procure to pay processes as well as ERP expertise to perform day to day procurement of low dollar value of goods and services. This role will also support Senior Buyers for RFX and other strategic procurement and contract management initiatives.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Sourcing, negotiating, and placing orders for low dollar value goods and services
- Placing purchase orders and administering all backend work through Oracle/Maximo as required
- Expediting outstanding purchase orders and resolving invoices and purchase order discrepancies
- Establishing and managing relationships with vendors and updating vendor data in ERP
- Assisting with preparation of RFX packages and contracts as directed by Senior Buyers
- Working on discrete Supply Management projects as required, including direct engagement with business units

**Key qualifications include**:

- Three years of relevant purchasing experience in a corporate or commercial environment, supplemented by completion of a two-to-three-year diploma or certificate program in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Fundamental purchasing knowledge, including basic understanding of contracts and buying processes
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize, schedule tasks and handle deadlines
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Experience in ERP systems, especially Oracle or Maximo, is a significant asset
