Report to Manager, Technical Underwriting

Description The individual will provide clerical and administrative assistance to all underwriters in addition to other administrative functions

Role & Responsibilities
1. Underwriting Support for Senior Underwriters:

- Issue all new & renewal policy transactions, update database
- Assemble Policy wordings
- Prepare draft copy of endorsements and cancellations for u/w review and update same in database
- Issue endorsements and cancellations
- Prepare and assemble broker, insured and “other” copies of all policy documents for courier
- File all documents in policy folder, per AMF Guidelines
- Prepare & print Doc Sheet, send file to ISCYL, print draft, hand over completed file for audit
- Order inspections per u/w requirements and follow up as required
- Follow up with broker on requests for information
- Processing all assigned work promptly and accurately, as per AMF Guidelines

2. Underwriting of Building Owner accounts
- Underwriting, new business, renewals and endorsements according to AMFUM underwriting guidelines,

authority limits and company standards for AMF’s Building Owner Book of business
- Seek approval/assistance as required
- Prepare & print Doc Sheet, send file to ISCYL, print draft, hand over completed file for audit
- Issue renewal policy transactions, update database
- Assemble Policy wordings
- Prepare and assemble broker, insured and “other” copies of all policy documents for courier
- File all documents in policy folder, per AMF Guidelines
- Maintain knowledge of company and industry Underwriting policies, procedures and standards.
- Respond to broker requests and inquiries on a timely basis, as per AMF Guidelines

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- University Degree and/or CIP Designation
- Knowledge of policy wordings and limitations
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in risk selection
- Evaluate future loss potential
- Strong decision making skills and ability to bring creativity to underwriting risks
- Prepare insurance quotes using AMFUM quoting system
- Issue/endorse/cancel policies using AMFUM policy system
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, clients, and industry personnel
- Deliver exceptional customer service to brokers
- A strong work ethic, good organizational skills and the ability to work within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to explain results of your work to others in the industry
- Excellent computer skills
- Working effectively within the AMFUM team dynamic.
