Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Technician to join our Fire & Life Team in Oakville, ON.

Your role will include diverse maintenance and repair activities for vehicle fire suppression systems as well as portable fire equipment and shop work, as required. While this position is based out of our Oakville branch, there will be remote service requirements at customer locations.

Main Responsibilities in this role
- Inspect, maintain and service vehicle fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers and fire life and safety equipment
- Provide in house and mobile service work
- Vehicle fire suppression maintenance and repairs on multiple brands (Ansul, Kidde, Fogmaker, Amerex)
- Work closely with the service coordination team to schedule service work and maintain inventory levels
- Maintain service vehicle, inventory and tooling
- Complete all applicable health and safety paperwork, in a timely manner and associated with company policies and ISO procedures
- Ensure all manufacture certifications stay up to date and current
- Perform after hours callouts as required.
- Perform after hours call outs as required
- Other duties when assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
- Experience, education, or training working with fire protection and/or suppression systems is a strong asset
- A valid drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to work with technology and mobile devices

Physical Safety Requirements
- This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments. As such the following are core requirements for this role:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physically able to work in restricted or confined workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
- Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
