Located in Ottawa, Ontario, **Central Precast** was established in 1956 and began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility grew to include landscape products, steps, and architectural panels and is a part of The Precast Group which is the largest precast concrete products producer in Eastern Ontario. The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast, M Con Products and Utility Structures Inc. We have an immediate opening for a Concrete Finisher.

**Summary**

The primary responsibilities of this position are primarily working with concrete and reinforced steel for precast concrete structures. This is a demanding job that requires good physical condition and the ability to maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare concrete forms and ensure proper alignment before pouring.
- Use hand tools and machinery effectively to achieve desired finishes.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance and compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safety standards.
- Assist with the installation of precast products as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up casts prior to pouring concrete
- Pouring concrete
- Raking, tamping, and leveling poured concrete
- Cleaning and oiling concrete molds
- Transporting raw materials throughout the plant manually
- Participating daily in the warehouse cleanliness and upkeep
- Checking finished precast for damage and defects
- Assisting and participating in concrete repairs

**Qualifications**:
Education Required
- High School Diploma

Years of Experience
- 1-2 years experience in construction or concrete industry

**Specific Experience/Skills**
- Highly proficient in using a hand/power tools and equipment to prepare and level concrete. Proven experience/expertise in the manual use of a trowel to produce high quality concrete surfaces
- Perform repetitive, physical labor for long periods of time in a dusty, dirty, wet and muddy environment. Maintain high levels of safety and be aware of surrounding
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic
- Be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
- Effective communication/interpersonal skills. Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment. Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, especially when handling stressful situations

**Own Tools/Equipment**
- Steel-toed safety boots
