**Fife House** is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021 Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

**Fife House** is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Residential Support Worker positions across a number of our programs. As a member of the team, the Residential Support Worker will provide front-line client-centered and trauma-informed care to people living with HIV across multiple service locations, in alignment with unique program needs and fulfillment of relevant funding deliverables.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Direct and Indirect Client Support**:
- Provide services to people living with HIV who are experiencing chronic houselessness, in addition to other issues such as mental health, addictions, criminal justice system involvement, and/or behavioural concerns
- Use a harm reduction and restorative justice approach to client support in the program
- Use a non-judgemental approach to providing crisis de-escalation and support, focusing on problem-solving and rapport-building
- Work closely with the Residential Mental Health and Addictions Worker (RMHAW) and Food Services staff to deliver services on a daily basis
- Respond to and mitigate resident crises and emergencies on-site in collaboration with other staff on shift, including drug poisoning
- Distribute harm reduction supplies as needed
- Educate residents in the development life skills such as hygiene, time management, budgeting, nutrition and meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, and medication adherence
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external providers to ensure the smooth running of services for residents as needed
- Provide support for tasks such as laundry, appointment reminders, medication reminders, etc.
- Provide assistance with Managed Alcohol Program following the departure of the RMHAW during the evening shift, following medication storage and assistance procedures
- Provide support with resident cigarettes held within the program
- Provide written documentation and/or verbal communications to residents regarding violations of house rules, behavioural issues, and residential updates, and focusing on ways to support residents in addressing these concerns
- Address and mediate resident-to-resident conflict and concerns
- **Program Support**:
- Contribute to programming and activity planning within the program, liaising with colleagues
- Coordinate and facilitate programming and activities for residents
- Coordinate with external supports on-site that are facilitating programming and activities
- Facilitate and schedule day-to-day small group or one-on-one activities with residents from a psychosocial rehabilitation model, such as grocery shopping, clothing shopping, support to pharmacy for on-site medication dispensing, etc.
- Restock supplies for activities and programming as requested by evening and day staff to prepare for the following day
- Inventory programming and activities supplies, including 2nd floor kitchen, and common spaces
- Create and post in the program updates resource lists for residents (i.e. dental clinics, primary care clinics, food programs, etc.)
- Daily Operations:
- Review program signage and notices within the house, and update as needed on a regular basis
- Perform nightly building inspections to monitor the health and safety of the site, and security issues
- Submit resident and facility work orders in online management system (i.e. Workxhub)
- Complete and/or review Shift Log at the beginning and end of your shift, as well as conduct a verbal Shift Change meeting per shift to promote team communication and continuity of care
