The Produce Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the department. The Produce Manager is responsible for ensuring that all assigned task are completed by staff and that established goals and standards are achieved.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the efficient and effective production of fresh cut fruits and vegetables
- Support production staff to ensure proper production flow
- Accountable for ensuring labor and yield targets are met
- Accountable for all production planning and scheduling
- Strong communication with production staff and procurement staff
- Enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure that safe work practices are being followed
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination
- Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly
- Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals
- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Ensure that all staff under your direction are equipped with and are using the proper personal protective equipment
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations
- Handle customer complaints and comments
- Maintain shift schedules to ensure sufficient employee coverage
- Translate strategic goals into practical actions
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and hazardous materials
- Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations

Education and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Three years of experience in a management role is an asset
Working Conditions
- Hours will differ from daytime to evenings and weekends
- Work outside ordinary office hours (including weekends, evenings and holidays) may be required
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to grasp, manipulate, move, and assemble objects
- Frequent lifting, carrying of up to 50lbs
- Frequent walking
- Occasional handling of cleaning tools
- Working in a consistent temperature of 2 degrees Celsius
