**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the head chef.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including cooking stations and equipment.
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and cooking procedures.
- Participate in daily cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- A passion for meal preparation and creating high-quality dishes that delight customers.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $17.50-$19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
