**Beattie Pet Hospital Ancaster,** located in the Meadowlands, is currently searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. Our staff is our family, we are looking for someone who meets our values and is driven to help us grow, foster relationships and meet our goals (big or small). We are a Fear Free Clinic and working on our Feline Friendly Certification. The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support, every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.

**The Responsibilities**

• Sterilizing equipment and regularly cleaning examination areas, kennels, general house-keeping duties
• Patient restraint for procedures, vaccines and diagnostics
• Admitting and discharging patients for surgical procedures and diagnostics
• Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
• Willingness to learn more regarding; there is so much more to the industry than playing with puppies and kittens. If you are open to learning, we are happy to teach
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.

**The Position**

• Full-time or Part-time (we are flexible)
• 9-12 hour shifts (longer shifts, more days off)
• Previous Veterinary Clinic or Animal Experience is preferred
