Our retirement community is currently seeking a Full Time Evening shift RPN to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Background:

- Registered Practical Nurse Certificate of Competence of Ontario
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Excellent nursing assessment skills
- Excellent communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES &/OR ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Assists the Director of Care in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of the overall quality of resident care by the nursing department.
- Performs initial and ongoing nursing assessments of residents’ needs
- Develops, revises and implements the resident care profiles.
- Orders, administers and stores medications and treatments in compliance with the policies of the facility, pharmacy and standards of the College of Nurses.
- Documents and reports all errors and omissions.
- Ability to manage department in supervisor’s absence in areas such as staffing, equipment breakdown, supply ordering and receiving.
- Ensures the family, physician and management team are informed of changes in residents’ condition and needs.
- Ensures supplies and equipment are properly and efficiently utilized.
- Liaises with other health care personnel, agencies and families as required.
- Assists in the orientation of the resident, family and nursing staff.
- Completes audits and reports as required.

Provide direct care to residents as required

Experience in a geriatric setting (preferred).

Experience caring for those with dementia (preferred)

GPA and UFirst Training is considered an asset
