Packaging and Final Inspector Team Lead

PWO Canada is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier for auto manufacturers globally. We are one of five subsidiaries in the PWO AG Group, manufacturing lightweight metal components for the automotive industry.

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The Packaging & Final Inspector Team Lead position is to ensure parts are packaged and prepared when required as outlined in part specific packaging instructions in the Packaging Area for preparation of shipments to customers, while inspecting the products for gross defects.

**NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION**

The position ensures that products are packaged to specified packaging requirements in preparation for shipments to customers. Internal contacts may include personnel in the Production, Quality Services, and the Logistics Departments.

The position is responsible for completing their work and coordinates the work of others. Decisions made by this position could impact the department in the short term.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education: High School Diploma.

Knowledge and Skills: Organizational skills in order to balance priorities. Ability to work independently and within a group. Must pay attention to details.

Communication Skills: Basic oral and written communication skills for normal business communication. Ability to both give and follow specific instructions.

Nature and Length of Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset but is not mandatory for this position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Follows specific directions from both Production & Logistics departments on what parts needs to be packaged in the Packaging Area in preparation for shipments to customers.
- Packages parts as outlined in part specific packaging instructions or under the direction of Logistics in special cases, and visually review the parts for gross defects (slug marks, distortion, etc.) and escalate to the Quality department if anything is found or is questionable.
- Enters hours into the ODC Terminals against part specific shop order number, and ensures any team members also correctly enters their hours into the ODC correctly.
- Follows and performs to the processes and work instructions as outlined in the Process House applicable to the department.
- Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
- Compliance to all company HR policies and procedures.
- Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.
- Responsible for working safely and keeping a safe work area for themselves and fellow employees. Reporting any unsafe working conditions, practices, and work-related injuries immediately to his/her Manager.
- Any other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor and Manager.

**Salary**: $18.93-$22.15 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
