**BFL CANADA is seeking a Broking and Placement Specialist - Specialty for its Vancouver Office**

As a member of our Commercial division you will work in close collaboration with the team, building and fostering strong relationships with Insurers, and other industry service providers.

**YOUR DAY AS A BROKING AND PLACEMENT SPECIALIST - SPECIALTY**
- Manages the marketing process in close collaboration with the CE
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Client and Insurer Presentations
- Prepares accurate and comprehensive underwriting submissions
- Strong relationships with relevant industry insurers nationally
- Policy Wording development
- Reviews policy wordings and other documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Works with insurers to provide coverage solutions to better meet our clients’ changing operations and as new products are being offered
- Ensures the accuracy of renewal documentation and issues manuscript policies when required

**OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Minimum 5 to 10 years Commercial insurance experience or relevant insurance education.
- Level 2 license (insurance designation, CIP or CAIB preferred) or working towards the designation
- Maintenance of licensing requirements/ continuing education
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills, listening, verbal, and written
- Presentation training
- Competitive
- Creative mindset
- Detail oriented
- Strong time management
- Spanish speaking skill are advantageous but not a requirement
- Technical background in Engineering, Geology, Forestry, Mining is advantageous
- Must be service oriented, with strong insurer relationships
- Ability to work well independently, as part of a team, and with others throughout the organization.
- Positive attitude and a desire to grow
- Willingness to go beyond the job description
- Excellent technical skills working with of Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

**OFFICE INFORMATION**

Our Vancouver office is situated in Coal Harbour, half a block from the world renowned Seawall. Employees often enjoy activities along the Seawall during their lunch break with Stanley Park being close by. Our office is easily accessible for employees by car and public transit and there are bike storage lockers in our building.
