The Zoo Crew operates Pawsitively Pets Summer Camps in the Ottawa area.

Our goal is to provide an interactive, hands-on educational experience for children to explore pets and animals, build self-confidence and develop an understanding of the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Pet ownership comes with responsibility, and we believe by teaching children the skills of owning a pet we are encouraging them to develop a sense of self, and providing them with the tools to provide care and compassion to an animal.

We are looking for a camp director in OSGOODE.
- Has 2+ year experience in summer camp
- Desire and ability to work with children in an educational, interactive manner
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Ability to assist in teaching an activity
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, sense of humour, patience, and self-control
- Position is open to college and university students.
- Certifications in First Aid and in HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interact with parents during pick up. Relay highlights of the day and any important notes
- Assist counsellors with guiding campers through frustrations and big emotions
- Supervise and encourage staff in daily camp duties
- Help with camp prep and pre-camp administrative tasks
- Learn the likes/ dislikes of each participant.
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group.
- Manage the movement of the day-to-day activity schedule and support staff through programming questions
- Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, and meetings.
- Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing clean up and chores.
- Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

**Summer** - All applicants must be available for full time work for July and August and 15-20 hours per week in June..

**Job Type**: Seasonal

Pay: $19.75-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
