Help Desk Specialist

This is a different industry. It is not glamourous and it is not glitzy; but it is fun and rewarding. You have probably never thought about working for a pest control company; but it may just be everything you are looking for.
**Position Summary**:
**MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES**:
- Documents solutions in Knowledge Base for easier incident resolution in the future
- Interviews end users to review problem symptoms to fully document prior to escalating an issue to a Senior Technician
- Performs break/fix hardware support as required
- Assists with stocking IT Related supplies and distributing the supplies as required
- Acts as the ‘Face of IT’; manages first response for all inbound incidents and with such provides a high level of customer service, ensuring problems are solved to the complete satisfaction of the client.
- Asset tagging and tracking of hardware and software with a keen attention to detail
- Participates and provides ideas for the department’s continuous improvement initiatives
- Provides assistance in resolving HelpDesk issues and documents solutions as needed, in Helpdesk support articles for the company Knowledgebase
- Other duties as required
**Desired Skills and Experience**
**Skills and Experience**:
- Experience working in a multi - branch, helpdesk environment in mid-sized company of 200+ users is an asset._
Type of skills required:
- Fluent English and/or French; Written and verbal communication, interpersonal and support skills. Bilingual (French) is an asset
- Able to use all related hardware and software
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Works independently
- Experience working with Avaya IP Office or Avaya Contact Centre phone systems is a definite asset
- Knowledge supporting Windows 10 desktops and laptops is an asset
- Experience of working daily with Android devices is a strong asset (Samsung, Panasonic, etc )
- Experience using SOTI is an asset
- Formalized Helpdesk training is an asset or other IT related certifications
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative in helping others - attitude is more important than skills
