**Overview**

**Compensation**
- Hourly rate $19.60 - $22.00 per hour, dependent on ECEA or ECE, plus $6 wage enhancement for those who qualify
- Health and dental paid by employer after 3 months
- Vacation - starting at 2 weeks - up to 5 weeks based on years of service
- 10 sick days per year
- Paid legislated statutory holidays, plus paid time off for Easter Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Years Eve
- No requirement to stay on site during your scheduled lunch break

**Hours of Work**
- Must be willing to work any shift between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
- Must be willing to rotate shifts with co-workers
- Standard shifts are 8 hours with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break (7 paid hours per day), additional hours may be required during staff absences

**Requirements**:

- Valid and clean criminal record check from Victoria
- Valid and clean BC Issued ECEA or ECE (preferred)
- 3 references

**Duties**
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Assess and monitor each child's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the community.
- Maintain organized classroom records, including attendance and developmental assessments.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education trends.

**Experience**
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.
- Familiarity with special education practices is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities are required.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are highly valued.
- Experience in managing a classroom effectively while fostering an engaging learning atmosphere is essential.
