And our team is growing We are currently seeking a **Junior Hydrogeologist** to join our team and support **office and field support for hydrogeological investigations and operational water management primarily for the rural development sector**.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct hydrogeological investigation programs including drilling, test pitting and installation of monitoring wells
- Design and implement groundwater sampling programs
- Manage, analyze, and interpret a variety of environmental data
- Complete hydrogeological assessments for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects
- Complete hydrogeological investigations for environmental impact assessments
- Oversee aquifer testing and analysis (slug tests and pumping tests)
- Develop groundwater flow and solute transport numerical models
- Write technical reports for hydrogeological and environmental studies that summarize the methods, results, conclusions and recommendations
- Assist in preparing technical proposals including the work plans, scope, and budgets
- Write or review detailed technical documents including spreadsheet calculations
- A thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret environmental regulations, guidelines and standards
- Responsible for personal health and safety and that of any person working on an assignment directly under their supervision
- Field work in all seasons, travel and overtime may be required
**Job Requirements**:
- A university degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or similar program
- Accredited, or ability to be accredited, in area of expertise by a recognized body or ability to acquire (i.e. P.Eng., P.Geo.) in the Province of Ontario.
- 1+ years of relevant employment experience (preferably in consulting environment)
- Experience in hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation
- Experience in evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic)
- Working knowledge of evaluating groundwater data with respect to environmental regulations
- Demonstrated ability to use numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models and associated hydrogeology/geology software tools (e.g., MODFLOW/MT3D, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, Groundwater Vistas, PEST, AQTESOLV)
- Experience working closely with drilling or other contractors
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several assignments at one time
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
- Works well independently as well as a part of a team
- Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite is essential
- Written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical conversations
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
