**WHAT THE ROLE IS**:
Work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the production of high-quality spice items. Ensuring production targets are met in a timely fashion, while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Requires a variety of physical tasks in the repacking, blending, and labeling of spices. The job demands strict policies to prevent cross-contamination as our spice products contain many CFIA recognized allergen ingredients. The use of restricted packing areas, as well as individually assigned tools.

**SCHEDULE**:

- Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Work within a team to produce spice items for the foodservice and retail markets.
- Learn to use scales, measuring instruments, food processor, and packaging equipment.
- Help ensure that the quality and freshness of spice products is always maintained throughout the department.
- Employee must follow company policy regarding the production of spices and the proper use of equipment. Including: Preparation of all spice products including blending, weighing, repacking, and labelling as needed; Clean and sanitize spice areas between product switch overs and at shift end; Equipment safety; Critical Control Points of allergens.
- Must understand and work within all HACCP policies and procedures.
- Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Lead Hand/Operation Manager.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift.

- Food Safe Level 1 (Islands West will provide).
- Hepatitis A Vaccination (Islands West will provide).
- Must have valid work authorization in Canada.
- As this role is onsite, you must currently reside in Victoria, BC.
