Change and Release Manager - Job Description

Position Summary:
Direct Relationships:
Director of IT Operations and Support

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain the organization's change management process and release management strategies..
- Review and assess proposed changes to determine potential impact on systems, processes, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate change review meetings and maintain accurate records of all changes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that changes are properly evaluated, approved, and scheduled, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT priorities.
- Establish and maintain release calendars and communicate release schedules to stakeholders.
- Oversee the deployment of releases into production environments, coordinating activities to minimize downtime and risk.
- Identify and assess risks associated with changes and releases, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies related to change and release management.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of changes and releases and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in change and release processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on change and release activities, address concerns, and solicit feedback.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to support change and release management processes, such as version control systems, deployment automation tools, and release orchestration platforms.
- Continuously assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tools and workflows to streamline change and release activities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in change and release management roles, preferably in a complex IT environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with change and release management tools and technologies.
- Certification in ITIL or related disciplines is a plus.
